Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 14, at 10 a.m., in the Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. Milton Pray officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. H. H. Tibbitts, and the Rev. C. J. Walea. Interment was in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home, with full Masonic graveside rites. Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Johnson of Baytown, Tex.; one son, James Daniel Johnson III of Baytown, Tex.; two daughters, Dianna Lynn Moncief of Houston, Tex., and Donna Jean Salinas of Baytown, Tex.; four brothers, Willard H. Johnson of Baton Rouge, La., Luther G. Johnson of Houston, Tex., Bob R. Johnson of Shreveport, La., and the Rev. Frank D. Johnson of Elkhart, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Woods, and Mrs. Juanita Pine, both of Many; seven grandchildren; and one great grandson. Mr. Johnson was a native of Many, La.; lived in Baytown, Tex. For 30 years, and was retired from Texas Eastern Pipeline of Baytown, Tex. He was a Mason with Lodge No. 644 of Many, and a 32nd degree Mason of Houston, Tex. He was also a veteran of World War II. Correction (Sabine Index May 29, 1986) On the obit page of May 22, for James Dajniel Johnson Jr., it was stated that he was a Mason with Lodge No. 644 of Many. This should have read that he was a Mason of the Many Lodge No. 411. We are sorry for this error, and wish to apologize to the Lodge and family.
