All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Margaret Barton Johnson Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Barton Johnson, 65, of Pleasant Hill, were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, at Beulah Methodist Church. Rev. Abe Connerly, pastor of Beulah Methodist Church, officiated the services. Burial followed in the Beulah Cemetery near Marthaville, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Mrs. Johnson died Saturday, February 10, at Sabine Medical Center in Many, following a sudden illness. A native of Belmont, Mrs. Johnson had spent most of her life in the Marthaville, and Pleasant Hill area. She was a former fountain manger for F. W. Woolworth Co. for many years, and most recently, she was a cook at the N. Sabine Nursing Home in Pleasant Hill. She was a member of the Beulah Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Herndon Sanders, who was killed in action in Vietnam. Survivors include her husband, William G. Johnson of Pleasant Hill; one son, Charles E. Sanders of San Clemente, California; five step daughters, Vickie Arrondoll of Atlanta, Georgia, Cathy Childs of St. Augustine, Florida, Mollie Smith of El Paso, Texas, Billie Murry of Blanchard, and Suzette Harris of Leesville; one sister, Ruthie Salley of Belmont; 15 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jack Nelson, Truman Durr, Odis Hilliard, Leroy Durr, Thomas J. Hardee III, and Hugh Hamilton Hardee. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. C. E. Poimboeuf, Cliff Poimboeuf, and Larry Peacock.
