All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Cleo Grantham Wood Johnson Funeral services for Mrs. Cleo Grantham Wood Johnson, 83, were held at 2 p.m., on Monday, May 27, in the Coushatta Rose-Neath Chapel, with the Rev. Ray Dyess, and the Rev. J. P. King officiating. Burial was held in the Zion Cemetery at Fairview Alpha. Mrs. Johnson was a native of Red River Parish, and a resident of Sabine and Natchitoches Parishes for most of her life. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill, La., and was a member of the Jordan Ferry Baptist Church for many years. She was an active member of the Red River Associational WMU for many years. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Claudie Lee Wood, and Robert Melvin Johnson; her children, Elinor Wood Roddy, Edwin Ray Wood, and Frances Kay Wood; and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Grantham. She is survived by one son, Charles "Bub" Wood and wife Jean of Jordan Ferry, La.; daughters, Doris Lee W. Stevens and husband Roland of Belle Chasse, Lurline Wood Dykes of Pleasant Hill, Marcia W. Mitchell and husband Roy of Marthaville, La., Carolyn W. Gewin and husband Clarence of Pleasant Hill; son-in-law, Tom Roddy of Bossier City; sisters, Mabel Sackman of Lafayette, La., Shirley Youngblood of Coushatta, and Evelyn Youngblood of Baton Rouge, La.; one brother, L. E. Grantham of Port Allen, La.; 14 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be Benton Johnson, grandsons, and grand sons-in-law. Memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, or the charity of donor's choice.
