Johnson, 77, of Converse, were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 22, 1996, at Mansfield Chapel. The Rev. Bob Hannigan, pastor of San Patricio Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in the Noble Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Mansfield. Mr. Johnson died Saturday, Jan. 20, at Highland Hospital in Shreveport. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Johnson of Converse; three sons, Quinn Johnson of Kyle, Texas, Raleigh Leatherwood of Converse (wife Bobby Nell), and C. B. Leatherwood of Converse (wife Bobbie); one daughter, Wyoma Hawthorne of Tyler, Texas (husband Justin); four nephews, Glendel Johnson, Johnie Foley, Cliff McClellean, and Wayne McClellan; eight grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Johnie Foley, Glendel Johnson, Donny Leatherwood, Jeff Jagneaux, Mike Smith, and Ronnie Richardson. Honorary pallbearers were Josh Leatherwood, Jessica Leatherwood, and Alicia Ruiz. Mr. Johnson was born in Jewett, Texas, was a member of Wallace Baptist Church, and worked as a pipefitter.
