Rufus J. Jenkins

  Rufus J. Jenkins, 85, of Many, died Monday, July 1, after an
extended illness.

  Survivors include his wife, Ettie Mitchell of Many; one son, R.
H. Jenkins of Eunice; three half brothers, Jake Driggers of Many,
Oscar Driggers of Salqum Wash., and Coleman Driggers of
Shreveport; six stepchildren; four grandchildren; and four great
grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 3, at the Ft. Jesup
Church, with the Rev. Ray Penfield officiating. Interment was in
the Negreet Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows
Funeral Home.

  Pallbearers were J. C. Morris, Bob Speights, Wilford Mitchell,
Dewey Stoker, Willie Bell, and Roland Stoker.
