All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Cade Johnson Cade Johnson, a 78 year old Negro man from Florien, died at Fraser Hospital Monday night, from injuries received in a head on two car collision, which occurred about six tenths of a mile west of the Florien city limits. Four other persons, all Negroes from Florien, were injured. The accident occurred about 5:15 p.m. James Holden was traveling east on Highway 474, in a '64 Ford, when he observed an approaching car in his lane of travel. He swerved to the left as Johnson, the driver of the other car, a '63 Pontiac owned by Daniel Willis, swerved to the right. The Two cars met approximately three feet across the center line in the west bound traffic lane, according to Sgt. C. J. Miller of the State Police, who investigated the accident. Willis was taken to Fraser Hospital, and transferred to a Shreveport hospital for further treatment. Anna Johnson, wife of the deceased, Holden, and Diane Hunt, a 14 year old female passenger in the Holden car, were all taken to Fraser Hospital for treatment. According to Sgt. Miller, both vehicles were totally demolished, and Johnson and Willis were both drinking.
