Johnson, 74, of Many, died Jan. 17, in Many, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 20, at Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. H. H. Tibbitts, the Rev. Preston Tibbitts, and the Rev. Bill White officiating. Burial was in Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Survivors include a wife, Mrs. J. D. Johnson of Many; five sons, J. D. Johnson Jr. of Baytown, Tex., Willard H. Johnson of Baton Rouge, Luther G. Johnson of the U. S. Army, Vietnam, Bobby R. Johnson of Shreveport, and Frank D. Johnson of Many; four daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Woods of Many, Mrs. Mavis Jones, Clute, Tex., Mrs. Juanita Pine of Chincoteague, Va., and Mrs. Diane Fox of San Diego, Calif.; a brother, C. H. Johnson of Shreveport; a sister, Mrs. Zula Rivers of Many; 12 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers were members of the Ft. Polk Fire Department; Joseph W. Craft, Byron B. Bennett, Johnny Davis, Rube Stephens, C. D. Burweson, and W. C. Vickers.
