All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Leroy Johnson, Sr. (Photo) Leroy Johnson Sr., son of George and Ressie Maxie Johnson, was born Oct. 11, 1922, in Natchitoches Parish. He entered into eternal rest Feb. 19, 2003, at Willis Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport. After endless hours of study, he received a diploma in Master Watchmaking from the Chicago School of Watchmaking in 1958. He did further study through the L. S. Symtronic Television Servicing System of Los Angeles, Calif., and received his certification in TV repair in 1962. He operated a thriving business for many years, until his health limited his activities. One of his greatest goals was to educate his children. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Feb. 24, at Winnfield Memorial Chapel in Natchitoches, with interment following at New Jerusalem Cemetery. The Rev. Fred Jones officiated. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mackie Conley Johnson; three daughters, Ruth Jackson (Willie) of Humble, Texas, Annie Smith (Alonzo) of Shreveport, and Tina Armstead (William) of Broken Arrow, Okla.; four sons, Leroy Johnson Jr. (Laversie), James Johnson (Rosalind) of San Francisco, Calif., Robert Johnson (Sharon), and Otis Johnson (Seneca) of Florien; one daughter-in-law, Alice Johnson; two sisters, Beatrice Weaver of Bakersfield, Calif., and Annie Williams (Walter) of Florien; one sister-in-law, Ardella Johnson of Houston, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Eric Johnson, Kevin Jackson, Robert Johnson Jr., Calvin Johnson Jr., Alonzo Smith Jr., Hadrian Johnson, Aaron Johnson, and William Armstead IV. Honorary pallbearers were Leroy Johnson Jr., James Johnson, Robert Johnson Sr., and Otis Johnson.
