Dr. John Sullivan, pastor of Broadmoor Baptist Church, where Mrs. Joiner was a member, officiated. Burial was at Centuries Memorial Park. Mrs. Joiner, a retired school teacher with the Caddo Parish Schools, died at 4:50 a.m., Sunday, December 15, 1985, at Willis Knighton Medical Center. She was born in Mitchell, La., and had been a resident of Shreveport for the past fifty years. She is survived by her husband, J. W. Joiner of Shreveport; one son, Henry T. Pye III of DeSoto, Texas; a step son, John Wiley Joiner of Lafayette, La.; two sisters, Syble L. Berry of Shreveport, and Willsie L. Adams of Kennard, Texas; five brothers, Erskie J. Leysath of Mitchell, La., George F. Leysath of Goodrich, Texas, Walter G. Leysath of Port Arthur, Texas, and William M. Leysath of Baytown, Texas; six grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
