Jordan Funeral arrangements were incomplete for Deputy U. S. Marshal James Lester Jordan, 60, who died Monday, August 4, after a long illness. A native of Pleasant Hill, Mr. Jordan resided in Shreveport, where he resided since 1937. He moved here from Pleasant Hill, and was employed by the drilling department of an oil firm. He joined the Shreveport Police Department as a patrolman in 1940, and in 1950, he joined the Caddo Parish sheriff's office, where he served as chief jailer. In 1966?, Mr. Jordan joined the U. S. marshal's office. He was a member of the Mangum Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Angie G. Jordan; a son, Steve Jordan of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. O. E. Pipkin, Minden, and Mrs. Walter Pearce, Witchita Falls, Tex.; two brothers, S. V. Jordan, Big Spring, Tex., and Fred Jordan of Columbus, Ga.; and two granddaughters.
