Jordan, the father of two Shreveport women, were at 10 a.m., Monday, Sept. 8, at Forest Park Cemetery, with Dr. D. L. Dykes, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marshall Street Chapel. Mr. Jordan, 76, of Big Springs, Tex., was the father of Mrs. W. P. Martin, and Mrs. J. R. Mitchell, both of Shreveport. He died Friday, Sept. 5, in Big Springs, after a short illness. He was a native of Pleasant Hill, and a former Shreveport resident. He had lived in Big Springs since 1941. In 1963, he retired as a switchman from T&P Railroad, and was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, and Masonic Lodge No. 1340 F&AM, both in Big Spring, Scottish Rite Masons in Lubbock, Tex., and the Suez Shrine Temple of San Angelo, Tex.
