The Sabine Index - Mrs. Sarah Lemmons Jordan

  29 Sep 1961 - Mrs. Sarah Lemmons Jordan, born Aug. 23, 1876, in
Sabine Parish, departed from this life Sept. 13, 1961, at Zwolle,
La., age 85 years, 21 days.

  In young womanhood she was united in marriage to Mr.
Middlebrooks and to this union was born four children. The
husband and children preceded her in death many years ago.

  April 20, 1961 (sic) she was united in marriage to Mr. E. W.
Jordan and to this union was born two sons and three daughters.

  "Aunt Sarah" as we knew her was a good home maker and was
faithful to her loved ones and home.

  She was ailing for sometime before her passing away, but in her
younger days she was good to help with the sick in her community.

  The writer has reason to remember with gratitude her kindness to
our own family in a time of need.

  She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist church.

  Funeral services were conducted at Rocky Mount Church with Rev.
W. P. Prothro, Rev. O. H. Prothro and Rev. J. E. Shoemaker in
charge.

  "Aunt Sarah" is survived by her husband, E. W. Jordan, sons, A.
K. Ann Earnest Jordan, daughters, Mrs. Ettie Jenkins, Mrs. Ethel
Primm, Mrs. Wilalee Moss, all of Robeline. 10 grandchildren and
21 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
