Jordan (Photo) Funeral services for Marvin O. Jordan, 50, of Shreveport, were held Monday, Oct. 14, 1996, at 2:30 p.m., at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Buck Furlow, pastor of Barron Road Baptist Church. Interment was at Forest Park West. Mr. Jordan passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, at 6:50 a.m., at his residence, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Robeline, and was a Ret. Lt. Detective with the Shreveport Police Department, and was a member of the Barron Road Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Cissy Jordan; parents, George and Margie Jordan, all of Keithville; mother-in-law, Mimio McCarty of Shreveport; two sons, Bubba Jordan and wife Shannon of Shreveport, and Jonathan Jordan of Keithville; two daughters, Lisa Jordan LaPrarie and husband Frank of Jacksonville, Tex., and Michelle Jordan Standridge and husband Timothy of Fla.; three grandchildren, Chad LaPrairie, Ashley Jordan, Joshua Jordan; four brothers, Edward Jordan of Shreveport, Bud Jordan of Stonewall, Joe Willis Jordan of Novia, Miss., and Gary Jordan of Brownsville, Tex. Pallbearers were Grady Cummings, W. R. Smith, Herbie Grubbs, Lonnie Padgett, Wallace Irving, and Tom Thomas. Honorary pallbearers were Adam LaPrairie, and Joshua Jordan. The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Barron Road Baptist Church.
