Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. July 8 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel with interment following at Bethel Cemetery in Colfax. The Rev. Phillip North, pastor of Zwolle United Pentecostal Church officiated. Survivors include his fiancé, Lena Thibodeaux; father, Marsdon Borchert, Sr.; step-mother, Marie Borchert; son, Brandon Borchert; daughter, Noel Borchert; and five sisters, Jean Zschoche, Linda Sue Leet, Ann Bell, Peggy Sito and Audra Lynn Borchert. He was preceded in death by his brother, Troy William Borchert and step-son, Jerry Lee Beason. Rose-Neath Funeral Home Many, La ===== John Ervin Charles died July 4, 2004 at Sabine Medical Center. He was a caring son, brother, husband, father, uncle and grandfather. He was born March 13, 1958 in Zwolle to John Earl and Georgia Thompson Charles. He converted in the Pilgrim Star Baptist Church. He married Brenda McGaskey Charles. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. July 7 at Jenkins Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Lawrence Williams, pastor of Lone Star Baptist Church, officiated. Survivors include his parents, John and Georgia Charles; widow, Brenda Charles; two daughters, Tori Gipson of Florien and Lakeitha (Eric) Cleve- land of Monroe; two sons, Jerome and Terrell Gipson of Houston, Texas; five sisters, Shelia Harps (Lawrence) of Greenville, MS, Ida Lee (Derry) of Many, Paulon Brooks (Meshach), Meruil Palmer (Danny) and Clara Haynes of Florien; three brothers, Randell Charles (Amanda) of Fisher, Milton Charles (Lavern) and Kalven Charles (Tanja) of Florien; four great aunts; five uncles; three aunts; and many neices, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Luther Charles. Pallbearers were Randell L. Charles, Milton Charles, Kalven Charles, Jerome Gipson, Meshach Evans, Derry Edmonson, Terrell Gipson, Kenneth Remedies and Lashaun Edmonson. Honorary pallbearers were Avery Harps, Michael Charles, Cory Charles, Antonio Charles, Charles Palmer and Calvin Ervin Haynes; and two special angels Maria Annette Charles and Alicia Rene Palmer. ===== Graveside services of Harvey Comby, 78, of Many fomerly of Chickasha, Okla., will be held July 14, at 10 a.m. in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Harvey Comby was born April 22, 1926 in Chickasha, the son of Henry and Alice Comby and died July 8, 2004 in Leesville. He graduated from Chickasha High School then served in the US Navy V-12 Pro- gram during World War II then graduated from Oklahoma University as a petrole-um engineer. He spent much of his life with Texaco in Latin America and at his retirement was General Manager in Peru. After retirement he did consult work in Africa and Brazil. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Beryl Leek, Doris Comby and Jean Cramer, his twin brother, Hank; and brother Jack. Survivors include his widow, Vicky of Many; four children and 10 grand- children; Alice, her children, Sarah and John; Kit and Katwing, their chil- dren, Kara and Kodie; Dani and Pat Havens, their daughter, Marilla; Henry and Pam, their children; Stephanie, Jason and Kaycee; a sister and brother- in-law, Alicia and O=Quinn Dunn and a brother, Bill, along with eight nieces and nephew. He considered Jo Ann Guidry family and Kimberly and Alice grand- daughters. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Louisiana Lions Camp, 292 L. Morse, 91, of Mansfield formerly of Ebarb died June 26, 2004 in Mansfield after a short illness. He was a fishing guide. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. June 29 at Rose-Neath Chapel in Mansfield with interment following at Pelican Cemetery. The Rev. Doris Sheppard officiated. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials be made to Pelican United Methodist Church building fund. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Mae Morse, and son Gordon Clyde Morse. Survivors include his daughter, Chris Anders and husband, Roger, of Pleasant Hill; son, Earl Morse and wife, Billie, of Colleyville, Texas; sister, Sybil Land of Shreveport; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were nephews Donnie Averitt, Charles Litton, Arthur Touchton, Stephen Lewis, Bill Blankenship and Donnie Averitt, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons, Bud Anders and Eric Morse.
