Tynes, born Aug. 28, 1864, died Dec. 13 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. L. H. Johnston, Bastrop, after an extended illness. Funeral services were under direction Hopkins funeral home, Bastrop. Final rites were held in the home 2 p.m. Dec. 14 with Rev. J. E. Hinke officiating. Many beautiful floral offerings and much kindness and loving consideration were shown the family and relatives. Interment was in the Christ church cemetery, Bastrop. Pallbearers were: C. J. Jackson, F. N. Rogers, F. S. Ellis, Travis and Artis Tynes and Bill Blackman. Mr. Tynes is survived by one son, J. C. Tynes, Sr., of Haynesville, and one daughter, Mrs. L. H. Johnston, Bastrop; a brother, J. W. Tynes, Hornbeck; a sister, Mrs. E. R. Wright age 68 years, were held 3 p.m. Thursday from the Antioch Baptist church. Rev. W. G. Bailey officiated. Interment was in Antioch cemetery, Massingill funeral home directing. Pallbearers were from the Masonic lodge. Surviving are: wife; three sons, Vernice, Melvin and Melton, all of Florien; brother, Henry Wright, Florien; sister Mrs. Willie Miller, Florien; and five grandchildren. Mr. Wright died at the family home at Florien Wednesday, Dec. 26, after a long illness. He had engaged in the mercantile business in Florien since 1930. Previous to that was a planter and logger.
