Jerry Schmucker, pastor Converse Baptist church, officiated, assisted by Rev. D. B. Watson, pastor Noble and Zwolle Methodist churches. Mrs. Blackwell is survived by her husband, John Blackwell of Noble; a daughter, Mrs. N. A. Pugh of Triumph; three sons, Boyce Blackwell, Tyler, Texas, Tatum and Doyle Blackwell, both of Noble; six grandchildren; two brothers, Henry Tatum, Converse, and J. Mitch Tatum, Noble; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Copeland, Mansfield, Mrs. Truman Hall, Camden, Ark. Mrs. Blackwell was a member of Noble Baptist church and a life-long resident of Noble and her death is mourned by many friends as well as relatives. Carmichael 4 Jun 1948 - The remains of the late Lt. J. E. Carmicheal, Jr., will arrive by train Saturday, June 5, from Memphis, Tenn. and will rest in Massingill funeral home until the hour of service 3 p.m. Sunday, June 6, from Many Methodist church. The remains are returned home from temporary cemetery in Ste. Mere, Eglise, France. Final interment will be in Many cemetery. Lt. Carmichal lost his life on June 7, 1944, on the Utah beach landing. He was born in Leesville August 28, 1921, moved to Many in 1930 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Carmichel, Sr., was a graduate of Many high school and of L. S. U. class of 1942. He went overseas with the Fourth Infantry division in January 1944, serving with the 22nd Infantry regiment. Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Linder 18 Jun 1948 - Funeral services for G. E. Linder, who died Friday morning, June 11, were held at Belmont Baptist church at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 12, with Rev. W. J. Ross officiating and interment followed in Belmont cemetery under direction of Massingill funeral home. Born in Union parish May 15, 1873, Mr. Linder was a resident of Belmont for more than 65 years. In 1902 he married Miss Nannia Currie, who survived him. Other survivors include a son, G. E. Linder, Jr., a sister, Mrs. W. R. Funeral rites were conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist church, Many by Rev. W. M. Greer, pastor. Interment was at Glenmora under the direction of Massingill funeral home with Masonic rites at the grave. Pallbearers were Bill Leslie, J. Wiley Miller, J. M. Abington, C. B. Byrd, Jr., T. M. Phillips and J. M. Belisle Surviving relatives relatives include: son, Don, Georgetown, S. C.; daughter, Mrs. Dessie Richker, Port Arthur, Texas; wife, Mrs. Dela Eldred Peniger, Oakdale; sister, Mrs Anna Pringle, Alexandria; three grandchildren. Mr. Peniger worked for the K.C.S. railway for 15 years, later was employed by The Texas Company at Port Arthur, Texas.
