J. Key and Mrs. J. J. Key of Kisatchie were held at Kisatchie at 2:30 p.m., Jan 2 with Dennis-Green funeral home in charge of arrangements. The body was brought to Many and remained at the home of his brother, Adam Key, until 12:30 when the cortege left for Kisatchie, where services were conducted by Rev. W. G. Bailey, assisted by Rev. Baggett of Converse, Rev. Monroe Roberts of Provencal, and Rev. C. W. Williams of Many. Mr. Key died at 11:10 Jan 1 as he was enroute to a Shreveport hospital, from the effects of a ruptured blood vessel. Mr. Key leaves a wife, the former Miss Lucy Davis, of Campti; his mother, Mrs. J. J. Key of Kisatchie; three sisters, Mrs. Chris Funderburk, Mrs. Henry Funderburk, and Mrs. Zula Booty, all of Kisatchie; five brothers, Eddie Key of Alco, Miles Key of Alexandria, Billie Key of Robeline, Caleb Key of Hornbeck and Adam Key of Many. Mr. Key was in the mercantile business at Fairview-Alpha, where his wife is a teacher in Fairview-Alpha public school. Mr. Key was a likeable person and made friends readily. He had a smile and a friendly greeting for all with whom he came in contact. He gave his heart to Christ and joined the Baptist church in his early teens at Kisatchie. He loved the Lord and was loyal to his church, always lending a helping hand wherever opportunity presented itself. Denny leaves many friends and relatives who will miss him. The active pallbearers were: C. B. Funderburk, Thurman Funderburk, Bill Ashley, Osborn Miller, Clarence Laird, Edwin Fraser, L. B. Moffett, Simon Robinson.
