Rev. Joe Johnson, and David Tipton officiated. Services were under the direction of Beauregard Funeral Home of Leesville. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery. Mr. Kay died Tues., Oct. 9, 1984, at 5 a.m., in the Beauregard Memorial Hospital in DeRidder. He was 82 years old. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Charlie Kay of Many, La.; one daughter, Mrs. Mona B. Johnson of DeRidder; six sons, Sam Olen Kay Jr. of LeMarque, Tex., Flynn Kay of New Llano, Charles Kay of New Llano, Sam David Kay of Many, Sam T. Harrison of Alexandria, Homer Ferrington of West Monroe; one sister, Avis Jennings of Anna Coreez, Washington; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty one great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and three great-great-great grandchildren.
