Jason Kurby Kay, 76, of Anacoco, were held Tuesday, Oct. 27, in the chapel of the Beauregard-Vernon Funeral Home of Leesville. The Reverends Dan Perego, and Buford Cain officiated. Burial was at the Old Anacoco Cemetery, under the direction of the Beauregard-Vernon Funeral Home. Rev. Kay died at 9:45 p.m., in the Byrd Memorial Hospital in Leesville. Rev. Kay, a lifelong resident of Anacoco, was a Southern Baptist minister for over 50 years, having pastored churches in Vernon, Sabine, Beauregard, and others across the state. He was a WWII veteran, and attended college at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Tex. Survivors are his wife, Willie Mae Koozer Kay of Anacoco; one foster daughter, Dorothy Evans of Leesville; one sister, Mrs. C. T. Corriel; two nephews; and 3 nieces. Pallbearers were John Wilson, Delbert Massey, Edmond Lacaze Jr., Angelo Simonelli, Douglas McRae, and Wayne Kay.
