All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Flarcie Miller Key (Photo) Funeral services for Flarcie Miller Key, 90, of Many, were held Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, at 1 p.m., at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was Rev. Bob Spear, and Mr. Thomas A. Dunigan. Interment was in Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Mrs. Key died Sunday, Jan. 26, at Integrated Health Services of Many South. She was the widow of John Adam Key, a well known businessman and rancher in Many for many years. "Miss Flarcie" was born Nov. 27, 1906, in Florien, to Norrie Andrew Miller, and Pearl McMillan Miller. She received her early education at Florien Elementary School, and graduated from Florien High School in 1923. She then attended Louisiana State Normal College in Natchitoches, and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. After that time, she taught for 10 years in Mt. Carmel, and Florien. In 1930, she married John Adam Key, and moved to Many, and became a fulltime homemaker, wife, and mother. Mrs. Key was well known throughout the Many Community for her dedication to her home, her family, her gardening, and her church. Mrs. Key was a member of the First Baptist Church of Many for 79 years, and served her church faithfully in many different capacities, ranging from Flower Chairman, to Sunday School Teacher, to Church Secretary. She was for many years, active in the Many Garden Club, and was widely known for her love and knowledge of flowers and gardening. Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her husband, John Adam Key; an infant son; a sister, Valerie Miller Dunigan; and a nephew, George Ray "Sonny" Dunigan. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Brocato; her only grandson, Robert Adam Brocato; her son-in-law, Dr. Robert M. Brocato, all of Many. She is also survived by her brother, Osborn Miller; and sister-in-Law, Thelma H. Miller of Many; two nieces, Betty Miller of Houston, Texas, and Judy Bridges of Tioga; and one nephew, Bob Miller of Natchitoches; and 12 great nieces, and great nephews. Pallbearers were Bob Miller, Jimmy Miller, Jeff Bridges, Les Lites, Robby Lang, Raymond Barnhill, Bill Boone, and Bob Cole. Honorary pallbearers were Pete Abington, Robert Ammons, W. R. Miller, and Willard Dewitt.
