All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** John Arnold Kopfinger, M.D. John Arnold Kopfinger, M.D., died at 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 26, at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center. He was 72, a native of Mount Carmel, Penn., and a resident of Baton Rouge. He was a retired physician at Stanocola Medical Clinic. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII, and a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving with M.A.S.H. unit 8055 in 1951. He received the American Area World War II Victory Medal, Korean Service Medal, and United Nations Service Medal. Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 28, celebrated by Rev. Donald Blanchard at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Baton Rouge. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Park in Baton Rouge. Dr. Kopfinger was preceded in death by his son, Mark David Kopfinger; his father, John Joseph Kopfinger; and his sister, Arlene Kopfinger Schneider. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, and the East Baton Rouge Parish Medical Society. He received his Doctor of Medicine from University of Wisconsin in 1948, and was a practitioner for 47 years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Cancer Society of Greater Baton Rouge, 550 Lobdell Ave., Baton Rouge, La., 70806. Survivors are his wife, Millicent Stassi Kopfinger; mother, Carrie Long Kopfinger; two daughters, Adrienne Kopfinger Kaiser, and Caroline Kopfinger Odom; three sons, John Arnold Kopfinger Jr., Philip Andres Kopfinger, and Peter Allen Kopfinger; one brother, Gerald Allen Kopfinger; five grandchildren, Andrew David, and Kyle Patrick Kopfinger, Adam Joseph, Stephen Daniel, and Evan Michael Kaiser. Pallbearers were Charles Dawson Kaiser, Philip Andrew Kopfinger, Peter Allen Kopfinger, Benton Powell Odom Sr., Dr. Joseph Nasca, and Manuel F. Gan Sr.
