All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Joyce Kelly Mrs. Vivian Joyce Kelly of Many, died at 9:20 p.m., Friday night, Oct. 16, following a lengthy illness. She was 46. Survivors include her husband, Dallas Kelly of Many; three sons, Pvt. Myles Kelly of Fort Port, and Stuart Kelly, and Jamie Kelly, both of Many; two brothers, Victor McNeely of Many, and Clyde McNeely of Florien; one sister, June Alizzi of Many; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Oak Hill Baptist Church of Many on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m.. Officiating were the Rev. Lee Dickson of Natchitoches, and the Rev. V. L. Prewitt, pastor of the Lakeside Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Ralph Vines, Jack Goss, Gordon Green, David Crittenden, Buddy McComic, and John Gentry. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Born in Converse on Dec. 22, 1934, Mrs. Kelly was raised in the Clase community, and graduated from Pisgah High School in 1953. She continued working, and began raising her family. An active member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church, Mrs. Kelly had planned to work with the Vacation Bible School program this past summer. Her illness prevented her helping. Throughout her illness, she showed courage, and strength, and never gave up hope. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
