Keene will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 1994, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria, with Dr. Larry Taylor officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Memorial Park, Pineville. Mr. Keene, 81, of Alexandria, died at 3:45 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, in Rapides General Hospital, Alexandria. He was a native of Pleasant Hill, a graduate of Grand Cane High School, and Louisiana Tech, where he lettered in track and baseball in 1933. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, and had lived in Alexandria for over 40 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and retired from Rapides Bank and Trust Company, after 28 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Claire Sutherlin Keene of Alexandria; one son, George F. Keene III of Wrightwood, Calif.; and three daughters, Jane Keene of Houston, Tex., Martha Bell of Shreveport, and Barbara Lyles of Ball. He was also survived by four grandchildren.
