All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Amos Wilford Knippers (Photo) Amos Wilford Knippers died at the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Many, La., at 6 p.m., on Monday, August 5, 1985. He was 93 years old. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Harper of Natchitoches, Ruth West of Halltown, Mo., and Melva Horton of Many; four sons, E. C. Knippers of Nashville, Tenn., Imon Knippers of Baton Rouge, Douglas Knippers of Baton Rouge, and Norman Knippers of Many; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 7, at 2 p.m., at the Many Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Lowell Bell, and Rev. Ralph West officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased, Eddie Knippers of Baton Rouge, Michael West of New Orleans, Christopher West of Halltown, Mo., Stephan West, also of Halltown, and Edward Knippers of Arlington, Va. Honorary pallbearers were Hoy Lee, Troy Britt, Curtis Knippers, J. C. Andrews, and Harvey Crittenden. Mr. Knippers served on the Sabine Parish Police Jury for 16 years. He was also a very active charter member of the Many Church of the Nazarene.
