Kennedy, 79, of Marthaville, a former Shreveport resident were at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 27, in Rose-Neath Funeral Home's Marshall Street Chapel in Shreveport, with A. J. Dupree, and Floyd McCarty officiating. Graveside services were in Beulah Cemetery near Marthaville. Mr. Kennedy died Friday morning, Jan. 26, in Schumpert Medical Center, following a long illness. He was a retired engineer with Kansas City Southern Railway. He was a member of the Ajax Masonic Lodge, Jordan Ferry Baptist Church, and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. Mr. Kennedy is survived by his wife, Hazel Stinnette Kennedy of Marthaville; two daughters, Dot Ballard of Shreveport, and Hazel Brow of McAllen, Texas, and a brother, C. B. Kennedy of Frierson. Pallbearers were R. C. Hayes Jr., Wade Hampton, Lyle Walker, N. O. Williams, W. O. Pickering, and R. H. Kennedy.
