Mrs. Verline M. Kennedy

  Funeral services were held October 8, for Mrs. Verline Kennedy,
46, who died in Shreveport, October 6, after a long illness.

  The services were held in Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev.
George Thorpe, and Rev. Herman Knight officiating. Burial was in
Mt. Zion Cemetery, with Warren Meadows Funeral Home in charge.

  Survivors are her husband, Leroy Kennedy of Shreveport; mother,
Mrs. Riley J. Peters, Shreveport; four daughters, Mrs. Sarah
Kennedy of Blanchard, Mrs. Thelma Weems of Haughton, Mrs. Mary
Mudd of Bossier City, Mrs. Mildred Barnes of Shreveport; six
brothers, Louie Peters of Leesville, Jeff, R. J., Laurence, and
Alvin Peters, all of Shreveport, Bennie Peters of DeBerry, Texas;
three sisters, Mrs. Willie Miciotto, and Mrs. Effie Miciotto,
both of Shreveport, and Mrs. May Jones of Pleasant Hill; 10
grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were her nephews.
