Kennington, 74, of Shreveport, were held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. The Rev. Willie Woodard, Baptist minister, and the Rev. Bruce Page, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, officiated. Graveside services were at 2 p.m., at Holly Springs Cemetery in Coushatta, La. Mr. Kennington died at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 1, 1984, after a short illness. He was born in Coushatta, La., has been a resident of Shreveport since 1940, and was a member of the Grace Baptist church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Peggy May Kennington of Shreveport; one son, John Kennington of California; two daughters, Jo Dayries, and Brenda Lee Kennington Blondell of Shreveport; a step daughter, Mary Ann Busher of Zwolle, La.; three sisters, Virgie Woodard, and Ethel Smith of Coushatta, La., Cleo Long of Gibsland, La.; one brother, Floyd Kennington of Coushatta; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Floyd Kennington, Jr., Basil Kennington, Donnie Dayries, Leon Dayries, Jr., Ricky Blandell, Hamp Smith.
