"Jiggs" Love Services for Mr. Charles R. "Jiggs" Love, 65, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 1988, at Union Springs Baptist Church. Officiating was the Rev. Newton Smith and Rev. Francis Smith. Burial was in Union Spring Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Mansfield. Mr. Love died Wednesday, October 5, 1988 at Willis-Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport following a lengthy illness. Mr. Love was born in Louann, Arkansas and had spent most of his life in DeSoto Parish. He was a World War II Veteran, having served in the US Navy and fought in the South Pacific, where he was a survivor of the USS Lexington when it sank in the Coral Sea. He served his country from the bombing of Pearl Harbor until the surrender of Japan. He was a member of the Union Springs Baptist Church, the C.V. II Club and was a TugBoat Captain along the Texas Gulf coast. He is survived by his wife, Barbara L. Love of Logansport; two sons, Charles "Buddy" Love of Grand Cane, La. and Danny Glen Love of Mansfield; four daughters, Beverly L. Booker of Grand Cane, Connie Procell and Pamela K. Fisher, both of Converse, Cathy Walters of Joaquin, Tx.; 15 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
