LeVasseur Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 10, in St. Catherine's Catholic Church, for Zeb G. LeVasseur, 64, of Shreveport. Mr. LeVasseur, a prominent Shreveport building contractor, died at 10:05 p.m., Tuesday, at his residence, following a short illness. The Rev. Frank Foret, pastor of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, officiated at the services. Burial was in Centuries Memorial park. A resident of Shreveport for 50 years, Mr. LeVasseur was born Aug. 22, 1907, in Powhattan. He has been in the building business for 35 years, was the first president of the Shreveport-Bossier Home Builders Association, and helped develop a number of local areas, including Sunset Acres. He was a member of St. Catholic Church. Survivors include his widow; a son, Zeb G. LeVasseur Jr. of Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. Robert Johnson, and Lydia LeVasseur, both of Shreveport, and Mrs. David Walker of Lyons, Ga.; four sisters, Mrs. L. L. Withers, and Vivian Barnes, both of Pleasant Hill, Mrs. Cleo Cornett of Shreveport, and Sadie Clark of Logansport, and four grandchildren.
