Lafitte of Shreveport, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace DeLatin, and Mrs. Leta Davis of Many, died Tuesday, June 22, as the result of a car wreck. The wreck happened between Logansport and Shreveport, Monday, June 21. Lafitte and two other companions were headed home from the lake, and met a pickup truck pulling a boat. The truck was pulling back on the road from the sides, and Lafitte swerved to keep from hitting the truck, and went into the ditch. He and his two companions were taken to the Confederate Memorial Hospital in Shreveport where Lafitte died the following morning. The two other boys were not hurt seriously. Funeral services were held in Shreveport Wednesday, June 23, with burial in the Forest Park West Cemetery.
