Officiating for the services was the Rev. George Cowart, pastor of Pine Island Baptist Church. Burial was in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens. LaFitte died Saturday in the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Shreveport, after a long illness. The Zwolle native was an oilfield worker. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Shreveport, and a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Roselier I. LaFitte of Vivian; his mother, Mrs. Addie LaFitte of Shreveport, five stepsons, Derriel W. Martin of Newport News, Va., James F. Martin, Ricky D. Martin, Kevin H. Martin, and Terry G. Martin, all of Oil City, and one brother, V. V. LaFitte of Shreveport.
