Lafitte, 52, of Shreveport, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, in Physicians and Surgeons Hospital, after a sudden illness. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, in the Marshall Street Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Officiating was the Rev. Jack Merritt, pastor of Ingleside Baptist Church. Burial was in Forest Park West Cemetery. Mr. Lafitte had resided in Shreveport for 35 years, and was owner of Lafitte Trucking Co. He was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church. He is survived by his widow; three sons, Joe L. Lafitte, and Rodney Cole, both of Shreveport, and Ronnie Lafitte of Fort Worth, Tex.; two daughters, Patsy Jean Lafitte of Shreveport, and Mrs. Darlene Smith of Michigan; his mother, Mrs. Mable Lafitte of Shreveport; a half brother, Tom Fountain of Many; three sisters, Mrs. Maudesessie Broussard of Lafayette, Mrs. Mable Elizabeth Gray, and Mrs. Virginia Combs, both of Shreveport; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Burl Little, R. L. Scaife, Roy Baker, Harold Carter, Ted Pharr, and James Pharr.
