All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Elza Mae Chapman Lovelady Funeral services for Elza Mae Chapman Lovelady, 74, of Avondale, will be held on Wednesday, June 12, at 10 a.m., in the Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. E. E. Walker will officiate. Burial will follow at the Aimwell Cemetery on Highway 1215. Mrs. Lovelady died on June 9. She was born in Independence, to Bennie Chapman and Cora Chapman. She married Rollie James Lovelady in 1947, and moved to Sabine Parish shortly afterward. In 1960, she became the proprietor of John Ivy Miller's Grocery in Negreet. In 1964, she and her husband opened Lovelady's Grocery and Station in Negreet. The operated the business for over 30 years. Mrs. Lovelady was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rollie James Lovelady; a brother, Harold Chapman; and her parents. She is survived by two daughters, Wanda Faye Salter Gilyard of New Orleans, and Demetris Ann Sharp of Mandeville; a son, James Bennie Lovelady of Destrehan; a sister, Rose Chapman of Ponchatoula; a brother, Holland Chapman of Lawtell; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
