Rookstool of Florien; after the illness from which he never recovered, he moved with an elder daughter Mrs. McLanahan. Funeral services were at prospect church, where the remains were interred beside his spouse who passed away in 1903. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Amos McLanahan, Milford, R. T., C. D., Fred, and Selby Leach. Great nieces aided with the floral offerings. Mr. Leach was born in Alabama in 1850, was married to Miss Nancy Francis in 1871. Leach, Dess, E.C. Leach, Ft. Jesup, and J. E. Leach of Natchitoches. A brother, N. F. Leach, and sister, Mrs. Clabe Stroud, both of Florien survive as does two half sisters, Mrs. William Gandy, Mrs. Rosie Woodle, and a half-brother, J. Lonnie Leach, all of Mt. Carmel. Deceased joined the Baptist church some 70 years ago, was a charter ember of Antioch and Florien churches, a member of the Masonic order some 60 years, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. For more than 40 years he was engaged in the mercantile business, and during the greater part of that time was a prosperous farmer for a number of years, always progressive and active in public affairs.
