The Rev. George Cunningham, pastor of the Bethel Methodist Church in Logansport, officiated. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery in Logansport. Mr. Lewis died at 3:23 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, in the Veteran's Administration Hospital. A native of Newton Co., Texas, he had lived in Many for two years. He was a former resident of Morgan City. A truck line operator, he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morgan City, and the American Legion. He was a Navy veteran of World War II Survivors include wife, Mrs. Blanche Lewis of Many, stepson, Charles Malone of Woodville, Texas, daughters, Mrs. Alice Say Moncrief of Morgan City, Mrs. Bennie Lewis of Longstreet, and Mrs. Sue Boley, and Mrs. June Register, both of Logansport; father, Lee Lewis of Woodville, Texas; sisters, Mrs. Lela West of Woodville, Texas, Mrs. Ada Stephens of Jasper, Texas, Mrs. Edna See of Spurger, Texas, Mrs. Elnora Marshall of Chester, Texas, and Mrs. Pearl Sanders, and Mrs. Myrtle Dickey, both of Woodville, Texas; brothers, Velton Lewis of Woodville, Texas, and Reginald Lewis of Jasper, Texas; and 14 grandchildren.
