(Lydia) Leach, 100, of Longview, were held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 9, at the Prospect Methodist Church in Florien. The Rev. John Koelemay officiated, Burial was in Prospect Cemetery in Florien. Arrangements were under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. She died Wednesday morning, July 7, at a Longview hospital, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Leach, born in Florien on March 3, 1882, was the daughter of Wiley C. and Clementine Conerly Lee, pioneer settlers of that area. She was the widow of the late David Skinner Leach of Florien, who died in 1960. Mr. Leach served as Postmaster of Florien for 30 years. For the past 15 years, Mrs. Leach had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. E. K. Bennett in Longview, Until her illness, Mrs. Leach was active in the Florien Prospect Methodist Church, Sunday School, and was past President of the Woman's Society of Christian Service. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Mt. Carmel Chapter No. 3, Order of the Eastern Star, of which she was a member for 80 years. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Charlie L. Coussons of Minden, Mrs. E. K. Bennett, and Mrs. John S. Carlton, both of Longview; two grandchildren; one nephew, Elbert L. Lee of Longview, and two nieces, Mrs. Clarence Bullard of Zwolle; and Mrs. W. W. Holmes of Jonesboro.
