Mrs. Mary Dee Gandy Lewis

  Services for Mrs. Mary Dee Gandy Lewis, 102, were held at 4
p.m., Sunday, August 13, 1995, at the First Presbyterian Church
of Athens. Officiating was Dr. Ralyn Parkhill. Burial was in
Salem Cemetery in Athens.

  Mrs. Lewis died Friday, August 11, 1995, at the Presbyterian
Village Nursing Home in Homer.

  She was a native of Claiborne Parish, and a homemaker. She was a
very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Athens.
Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, H. C. Lewis; and
a son, I. C. Lewis Jr.

  She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Gynn Sims of Athens,
and Mrs. Judy Urban and husband P. W. of Shreveport; two
sisters-in-law, Irene Gandy of Many, and Novyce Gandy of Athens;
five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and six great-great
grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were her grandsons.
