Officiating was Dr. Ralyn Parkhill. Burial was in Salem Cemetery in Athens. Mrs. Lewis died Friday, August 11, 1995, at the Presbyterian Village Nursing Home in Homer. She was a native of Claiborne Parish, and a homemaker. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Athens. Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her husband, H. C. Lewis; and a son, I. C. Lewis Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Gynn Sims of Athens, and Mrs. Judy Urban and husband P. W. of Shreveport; two sisters-in-law, Irene Gandy of Many, and Novyce Gandy of Athens; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
