She was the wife of the late Rupert LeRoy Lucius of Many, and of Shreveport. Mrs. Lucius was born in Mansfield to an early pioneer family. She graduated from Mansfield Female College, Louisiana State Normal College, and did post-graduate work at LSU in Baton Rouge. She taught school at Converse High School, and at Ebarb High School for a number of years. She was Vice President of Many Motors Co., a Ford dealership, owned by her husband. She served three terms on the Sabine Parish School Board, and was elected President during that time. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, having also served as Worthy Matron, a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Kate Beard Chapter of Mansfield, and a member of Pelican Chapter DAR, Shreveport, La. Survivors include one son, Rupert LeRoy Lucius, Jr., one daughter, Mrs. Leona L. Connell, three sisters, Mrs. Sophia Cook of Ruston, Mrs. Amy P. Johnson of Shreveport, Mrs. Eddie Bell Lewing of Fort Smith, Ark., two brothers, A. P. Stone, Jr. of Golden Meadow, O. L. Stone of Mansfield, four grandchildren, Elizabeth Lucius, Rebecca Lucius, Elena Lucius, all of Many, and James Lucius Connell of Shreveport, four nieces and two nephews. Services were at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, at Couch Memorial Chapel, First United Methodist Church in Shreveport. Burial was at Ft. Jesup Memorial Cemetery near Many. Arrangements were handled by Osborn Funeral Home in Shreveport.
