Lucius Services were held at 2 p.m. November 11, 1988 in the First United Pentecostal Church in DeQuincy for Mr. L. J. Lucius. The Revs. Wayne Cardwell and T. D. Cardwell officiated. Burial was in the Bilbo Cemetery under the direction of the Snyder Funeral Home of DeQuincy. Mr. Lucius died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 1988 in a Houston hospital. A native of Toro, La. in Sabine Parish, he was born March 6, 1933. He had lived in DeQuincy for the past 30 years and was a retired officer of the Louisiana Correctional and Industrial School and a member of the Volunteer Fire Department in DeQuincy. Survivors include his wife, Billie Smith Lucius; a daughter, Rosa Reynolds; a son, Rodney Lucius both of Deville, La.; two sisters, Doris Lucius Walker and Shirley Lucius Smith, both of Merryville, La.; his mother, Mrs. Julia Barker Lucius of Merryville; four brothers, Gene Lucius of Merryville; Dean Lucius of Westlake, Rev. Don Lucius of Idabel, Okla. And Johnny Lucius of Maine; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
