(Doc) Lucius, a pioneer Sabine Parish citizen, were held Wednesday, at 10 a.m., at the Many United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bill Sirmon officiating. Burial was in the Ft. Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Mr. Lucius died Monday, at 5:23 p.m., at his home in Many. He had been president and owner of the Many Nehi Bottling Co. for 42 years. The company was started in 1926 by Leander Corley, and Hoke Spence. In 1926, Mr. Lucius bought Corley out, and in 1927, Mr. Lucius and Spence sold the company to the Corley Bros. After the death of Leander Corley, Dr. A. B. Tramel bought the company in 1928. He stayed there until he sold the company to the present owner, Roger Wilson, in March of 1969. Mr. Lucius was a lifelong resident of Sabine Parish. He was graduated from Sabine High School at Ft. Jesup, and one of his early jobs was to operate a gin with his father at Ft. Jesup. Mr. Lucius is a former member of the Sabine Parish Police Jury. He is a past commander of the Many American Legion, and was a charter member of the Many Lions Club. He served in France during World War I.
