Leggett, age 76, who died Sept. 18, were conducted at Warren Funeral Home Chapel, at 10 a.m., Sept. 2, with Rev. A. D. Ashby of Blanchard, Rev. Foster Jennings of Marthaville, and Rev. D. K. Harris officiating. Interment was in Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers were Dock Lucius, Van Vines, J. B. Vandegaer, A. G. Dees, Dr. L. H. Murdock, and Dr. J. Lane Sauls. Pallbearers were Dr. L. O. Tackett, Amos, Curtis, and Norman Knippers, Ted Lewing, and Bernie Crittenden. Survivors are his wife, the former Nancy Louise Lewing; two daughters, Mrs. J. D. Page of Mansfield, and Dorothy Walker of Houston, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. J. I. Miller of Houston, Tex.; four brothers, W. H. Leggett of Odessa, Dee Leggett of Hico, J. T. Leggett of Many, and O. E. Leggett of Smackover; a host of relatives and friends. Brother Leggett was a minister of Congregational Methodist Churches for 50 years, retiring from active pastoral duties to writing of Bible studies for Congregational Methodist News. He attended Theological College of Atlanta, was a graduate of Bible School of Theological School of Cincinnati, Ohio, and preached in north central, central, and southern states.
