All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Allen Duane Leggett (Photo) Thirteen year old Allen Duane Leggett died at 4:14 p.m., in Schumpert Hospital in Shreveport on Thursday, June 15. The youth was hospitalized following an accident which occurred in Zwolle on Friday, June 9. Leggett and several companions were trying to catch pigeons in an abandoned building in Zwolle, when he fell 30 feet onto a cement floor. For days, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Leggett of Zwolle, kept a bedside vigil in the Intensive Care Unit. The entire Zwolle community was in prayer. Survivors include his parents; two sisters, Tonya Leggett, and Julie Leggett, both of Zwolle; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Helen Leggett of Glenmora; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Rice, also of Glenmora. Funeral services were held at the Zwolle First Baptist Church on Friday, June 16, at 2 p.m. Officiating were the Rev. Bill Mitchell, the Rev. Lee Dickson, the Rev. Lucian Conway, and the Rev. Fisk Ray. Burial was in the Zwolle Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Ronnie Parks, H. C. Smith, Vernon Mitchell, Jim Randolph, Brady Sepulvado, and Ellzey Anderson. The Leggett youth was actively involved in the youth group at the First Baptist Church. He was a well liked young man, and active in all school activities.
