Leggett, 53, of Many, apparently died in his green Ford Maverick around noon on Wednesday, Dec. 13, according to Many City Police Chief Dean Lambert. According to Chief Lambert, employees of TG&Y reported seeing a man who had been sitting in his car for a long time. Chief Lambert answered the call about the man, but failed to find him. He also answered another call, and helped a lady get her keys out of her locked car. A short time later, a local doctor entered the family center, and employees told him about the man. He apparently went to the car, looked at the man, and told store employees that the man was dead. The Many City Police was alerted. The body was taken to Pleasant Hill for examination by Sabine Parish Coroner Dr. W. W. Poimboeuf. According to Chief Lambert, Mr. Leggett had a history of heart disease. Mr. Leggett's body was discovered about 2 p.m. As of press time, the report from the coroner was not available. Mr. Leggett delivered the Shreveport Journal in the area for some time.
