H. H. Tibbitts officiating. Mr. Lester died in Shreveport, after a lengthy illness. Burial was in St. John Cemetery, with Warren Meadows Funeral Home in charge. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Edna Lester; eight sons, Creed, Robert, and Charles, all of Many, Lawrence, and Orland of Shreveport, Bradley, and Clayton of Knoxville, Tenn., John C. Jr. of Charleston, W. Va., and Daniel C. Lester of El Dorado, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. Clayton Fleury of Atlanta, Ga., Mrs. Robert Bentley of Tucker, Ga.; two brothers, Claude Lester of Many, and Chris Lester of Houma; one sister, Mrs. Mattie Kennedy of Florien; 22 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Claude Lester Jr., Joe Bill McCormick, Danny DeKeyser, Dennis Ray Lester, Dale McCormick, Tom Canady.
