Lites, 84, of Hall Summit, a former Shreveport resident, who died Tuesday, at his home, were at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, in Springhill Baptist Church. Officiating were the Rev. John Alexander, and the Rev. Lovelle Kennedy. Burial was in Coushatta, under dirction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Lites, a former music directir for several Shreveport churches, was born in Fort Jesup, and had lived in Hall Summit for the past 12 years. He was once superintendent of Sunday School at Southside Baptist Church, and had a music degree from Baptist Bible Institute in New Orleans. Survivors include his widow; two brothers, Ray Lites, and Leslie Lites, both of Many; two sisters, Mrs. Winnie Dees of Shreveport, and Mrs. Vara McWherter of New Orleans; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Noble Golson, Grady Hall, H. G. Boles, Duane Lee, Larry Wimberly, Carey Wilson, Ruffin Wilson, and Larry Shaw.
