The Sabine Index - John L. Latham

  11 Dec 1936 - John L. Latham, age 77 years, passed away at
the Allen sanitarium last Wednesday at 8:40 a.m.

  Mr. Latham had been in failing health for some time, however
death came suddenly by an unexpected heart attack.

  Mr. Latham came to Sabine from Mississippi at the age of 21
years, having lived in the parish for 56 years.

  Funeral services were held at Noble last Thursday evening at
3 o'clock, Rev. A. M. Holland of Marshall, Texas conducting the
service.  Interment was in the Noble cemetery.

  Mr. Latham is survived by his widow; one daughter, Mrs. W. O.
Roberts of this city, and one son, Reuben of South America, an
employee of the Standard Oil company; also one brother, Lawrence
of Memphis, Tenn., and one sister, Mrs. O. A. Robinett of
Natchitoches.
