Latham of Jasper, Texas, were held Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m., in the J. O. Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper, Texas. Officiating was Brother, W. M. White. Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Latham died Monday, Nov. 14, 1983, at Mary Dickerson Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Noble, La., and longtime resident of Jasper, Texas, where he owned and operated a Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store for over 20 years. He was past president of the Jasper School Board, and past president of the Jasper Kiwanis Club. He was an Air Force veteran of WWII. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Teresa Latham of Jasper; one son, John W. Latham of Jasper; two daughters, Jane Russell of Houston, and Lynn Paul of Converse, La.; two brothers, E. E. Latham of Jasper, and James F. Latham of Leesville; one sister, Hazel Perkins of Leesville; and five grandchildren.
