Latham Services for Mr. Lennis E. Latham, 66, of Shreveport, were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at the Rose Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield. The Rev. George Harbuck officiated. Burial was at Converse Cemetery in Converse, La. Mr. Latham, a resident of Shreveport for four years, died Friday, July 22, 1988 in Shreveport following a sudden illness. He was retired from teaching public schools of DeSoto Parish, after 40 years, and was a former member of the Mansfield City Council. Mr. Latham was a graduate of Louisiana Tech and held a Masters Degree plus 30 hours from Stephen F. Austin University. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Mansfield, the Louisiana Association of Retired Teachers, a former member of the Civitan Club and was a Mason and a member of the Liberty Masonic Lodge F&AM in Keachie, La. Mr. Latham was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Latham of Shreveport; his former wife and mother of his children, Jane Biggs Latham of Mansfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Kathy Latham and Mitch and Catherine Latham, all of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Tonya Lynn and Mark Dunbar of Boston, Mass.; three step-sons, Robert Wolf and Richard Wolf of San Antonio, Texas, Sam Kennedy Wolf of Boston, Mass.; one sister, Mrs. Mae Belle Blevins of Shreveport; five brothers, Monroe Latham and Floyd Latham, of Converse, Preston Latham of Winnfield, R.D. Latham of Houston, Tx. and George Latham of Deer Park, Texas; three grandchildren, Erin Leigh Latham, Lindsey Renee Latham and Robert D. Latham , of Mansfield. Pallbearers were Don L. Bell, Don Snyder, Hugh Bennett, Doug Green, Coach Eugene Rogers and Don English. Honorary pallbearer; Luther Dixon.
