Latham Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 5, for Amos Noble Latham, 78. He died Monday, after a brief illness. Services were held at 2 a.m., Wednesday, in the Drewett Funeral Home, with Dr. George A. Ritchey, and the Rev. Alfred Mitchell officiating. Burial was in the Mansfield Cemetery. Latham was operator of a Mansfield automobile firm, and a resident of Mansfield for over 50 years. He was a graduate of Louisiana College, where he was an outstanding athlete, and recently received a Golden Anniversary Diploma. Mr. Latham was very active in civic affairs. He was a member, and past president of the Rotary Club, a longtime member of the Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the DeSoto Parish Democratic Committee. He was also a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and a member of El Karubah Temple. Survivors include his wife; one son, Amos N. Latham Jr. of Annadale, Va.; three daughters, Mrs. E. Ross Kearney Jr. of New Roads, Mrs. G. M. Beucher of Shreveport, and Mrs. Kermit O. Chaney of Prairie Village, Kansas; one sister, Mrs. W. T. Boyd Sr. of Converse; and 16 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
