Dead is Oscar Litton, Converse businessman. State police said the accident occurred when passing motorists stopped to help W. L. Patterson of Mitchell, whose car had run off the road in a rain storm. Officers said Litton was killed instantly, and William Clark, 57, of 1620 Oakdale St., Shreveport, Leonard W. Miller of Florien, and Miss Odel Chism, 16, and Miss Glenda Chism, 20, of Florien, were injured in the accident. Funeral services for Mr. Litton were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday in Converse Baptist Church, with the Rev. H. M. Roach, and Dr. George A. Ritchey officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Drewett Funeral Home. Survivors include a son, Oscar Litton Jr. of Lake Charles; two brothers, Dr. Amos L. Litton of Barberton, Ohio, and H. K. Litton of Monroe; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl L. Hamilton of Lafayette, Mrs. Esther L. Harris of Shreveport, and Mrs. Mattie McElroy of China Lake, Calif.; and a grandson.
